If your property is in poor condition and you think you may have a claim against your landlord – we need to think about what sort of claim you may have.
In general the things you can claim for in court are:
- Compensation for damaged items – eg clothes, furniture, suitcases etc
- Compensation for personal injury – for example if you or your children are suffering asthema or other problems due to damp and mould, or if (for example) you havefalled and been injured due to broken stair bannister, or if you slipped and fell on cracked steps or paving outside the front door.
- General damages for loss of use of your property – for example if one of the rooms in your home has been rendered unusuable, you will be entitled to a proportionate part of the rent for the period of time you have not been able to use it
Have a think about these things. Do you think you, or anyone living with you, has a claim? If so please complete and send the form below. Someone will be in touch with you shortly to discuss your case.
