Disrepair is when a property is in poor condition and needs repair work.
This is significant if you are making a claim under the landlords repairing obligations which are described here as you can only claim if there is a repair issue.
So for example, if your rented home suffers from damp but the damp is not caused by a repair issue but by the design of the building which makes it susceptible to damp – then you may not have a claim.
